Product description

This is a mini version of Kukri by Anika

Kukri from Anika is a multifunctional tool, a reliable companion both on a hike and on an extreme journey. Its all-metal construction (full tang) gives it high durability.

“Kukri (Khukri, Kukuri) – a legendary Nepalese knife, or rather a hars mix of an axe, a knife, and a machete. The distinctive feature of the kukri is its curved blade shape and the forward-shifted center of gravity. The blade resembles a “hawk’s wing” and is sharpened on the inner side. The kukri is one of the oldest types of cold weapons, its age can be traced back to the 4th century BC when the armies of Alexander the Great “brought” a similar form of knife to Nepal, where it adapted in practically unchanged form and became a truly iconic weapon. Today, the kukri is used by the Nepalese army and police, as well as in Gurkha brigades. It is one of the oldest types of cold weapons that have survived to this day in unchanged form

The curved shape endows the kukri with excellent properties when used as a chopping tool. This property of the kukri is achieved due to its large moment of inertia resulting from its thickness and mass, as well as the shifted center of gravity and the angle of the cutting edge. It combines chopping and cutting strikes, resulting in a unique and effective chopping motion with minimal effort.” It can be used to trim branches and twigs or to chop down small trees. Therefore, it was often used to clear a path in the jungle.

The steel of the blade is 9XC, wear-resistant and strong.

The material of the handle is Ash wood. Egronomic and enlarged at the end, helps to hold the parang even more securely in your hands when chopping.

Sheath – genuine leather.
