When working with stones 20/14 and 7/5, the factory roughness will be “removed” from the first strokes, and the stone will become smooth. Don’t worry, this is its working surface, not that it has worn down in just two strokes. Keep working calmly.

FAQ!

25000miles stones or Venev?

To be honest, early we’ve never come across something so aggressive and fast before. They are able to work faster than other stones and still be cheaper. But in terms of finish sharpening, for example, there are few things that can compare to the Venev OSB bundle in our opinion. We would recommend a combination of these stones.

Are these stones suitable for the K03?

Yes, absolutely. For all TSPROF systems.

What do the numbers on the stone 20/14, 14/10……..1/0 mean?

This stones are factory marked in micron grit (according to GOST 9206). For example, “50/40”  means that the stone contains only diamonds in the range between 50 to 40 microns, neither bigger, nor finer. If the marking reads “100/80-50/40”, it means that one side is 100/80, and the other is 50/40. The coarser the grain, the coarser the stone’s work.
For the convenience of our customers, our website also indicate the approximate correlation between the microns with the Fepa F standard grit. You can find it in the interactive table here.

What is the correct way to choose their grit?

Keep in mind that these stones are much more aggressive than other stones where the grit is in a bundle. We would say at least one step “down”. For example, if a stone is 10/7 micron, it behaves no less than a 20/14 micron stone in a bundle.

How many layers of crystals does the stone have?

Three layers on each side.
