We present a new bundle of Venev plant – “MS-1“. Already having a fast and efficient working grain, the plant solved the last problem – wear of stones in the process of work. Thus, the hardest possible bundle “MS-1″ was created

The new MS-1 bundle includes the following components:
Copper, tin, diamond, additionally silicon carbide filler, which is finer in fraction of diamond and other components, which allow active metal removal during the whole lifetime.
The metal bond is sintered at a higher temperature of 650 degrees centigrade.

MS-1” binder holds and works equally well with ACM/AC6 grain (standard grain of Venevsky diamond factory) and CBN grain (“El’bor” – cubic boron nitride CBN). Since we have both types of grain, we specify them in the product description.

The base for the abrasive layer is an aluminum blank. Which allows the stone to be securely mounted in most sharpening systems in the world.The combination of a super-hard bond and a 3mm thick working layer allowed to obtain incredible wear resistance of the abrasive without loss in its speed!

FAQ:

What fluid to use?

These stones work well with many liquids:

1. You can use a soapy water solution with Fairy. But, this kind of liquid evaporates faster than oil-based liquids. Which requires more frequent use.
2. Pure olive oil. Works well, evaporates more slowly.
3. Special oils for sharpening. Without Including oleic acid based oils (metal bundle can rust when it’s used)
4. Use water and brush to clean the stone.  Also the “Bodrid 150” can be used for “grain opening, renewal”, levelling or cleaning the stone.

What does it mean – Abrasive concentration: 100%?

The factory makes stones with 25%, 50% and 100% grain fill in the bond. This directly affects the cost of the stone. If speed and wear resistance are important to us in the initial stages (in such cases we recommend 100% concentration), then 25% may well be considered at the finish in order to save money.

What do the numbers on the stone 20/14, 14/10……..1/0 mean?

All Venev diamond stones are factory marked in micron grit (according to GOST 9206). For example, “50/40”  means that the stone contains only diamonds in the range between 50 to 40 microns, neither bigger, nor finer. If the marking reads “100/80-50/40”, it means that one side is 100/80, and the other is 50/40. The coarser the grain, the coarser the stone’s work.
